About Us

Ochlockonee Ridge Farms is a family farm in Colquitt County, Georgia, located in Southwest Georgia between Moultrie (Ga. Hwy 37 West)and Funston on Rossman Dairy Road. Owner and operator, Scott Hart, is a retired Vocational Agriculture and Young Farmer teacher who has been farming in Colquitt County for 40 years. During his tenure as a Teacher he was selected Ga. Young Farmer teacher of the year in 1993 and also was named National Young Farmer teacher of the year by National Young Farmers Association. He was named the Agribusinessman of the Year(2002) by the Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce. In additon to these awards He was also Selected as Master Farmer of the Year by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). In February of 2007 he was installed into the Ga. Ag. Teacher Hall of Fame at the State FFA camp. He is joined on the farm by his wife, Virginia and daughter, Mary Beth who are home economists, her husband James Watson an Electrical Engineer and their daughter Mary Grace. Our son Trey is a full partner and crop science Major. He and his wife Lacey are expecting a son, Isaac Scott IV in December 2009. Crops currently produced on the farm include strawberries, cotton, and peanuts, as well as a herd of quality beef cattle. Our mission is to provide quality farm products and educational tours for South Georgians as well as our friends from up North traveling to and from Florida and Alabama.
